Description
Upon signing to 2 Minutes 59 Records, the label re-released both 2006's Did You Think I Was Gone?, and To A Friend, both previously sold out. To A Friend "Ambient prog roots rock at it's finest and the best Tandy record to date" (prior to 2005). From the opening elegance of Person To Person to the closing grace of Providence this album is a sustained musical moment of haunting, poignant beauty. To A Friend represents one of the strongest collections of Mike Ferrio's Tandy songs. The record also features Ferrio's first co-write (w/ drummer Bruce Martin) and two stunning duets with the amazing Ana Egge. Guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, alchemist Drew Glackin provides musical highlights (check his mandocello on The Fever Breaks) and Scott Yoder is the glue that holds this soulful, impassioned quartet together. This is one of the rare, truly organic records that you will return to and enjoy time and time again.Reviews

Description
With a gruff and gritty voice reminiscent of John Prine, Mike Ferrio singer/songwriter (and former Butthole Surfer roadie), is the leader of NYC’s Tandy. This 5 year retrospective features 16 cuts from their records with two new tracks thrown in for good measure. Other Tandy members include pedal steel player Drew Glackin from the Silos and Crash Test Dummies, drummer Bruce Martin (Tom Tom Club) and bassist Scott Yoder (Amy Rigby band) Their basic and very rootsy Alternative country sound is balanced by a healthy dose of rock and features guest spots from Kelly Willis, Dave Van Ronk and Jim White who joins Ferrio on a great cover of America’s 1975 hit "Sister Golden Hair". Ferrio’s words are personal memoirs from his youth as a farmboy in upstate New York and the whole CD rings with power, humility and authenticity.Reviews

Description
"The Bloodroot Transcriptions", is another live-in-the-studio, high contrast production. Legendary Asheville, North Carolina singer-songwriter, Malcolm Holcombe delivers inspired guest vocals on blues-rocker, "Fidelis" and on the bitter-sweet, "The Truth Is Better Than A Lie." Church Of Betty co-founders, Chris Rael and Deep Signh, add sitar and tabla to the intruiging, "Becky California" and the celabratory "True Fine Love". Mike Lavdanski of the Reading, Pennsylvania roots powerhouse, Frog Holler, plays a mean banjo on "Louis Green" and on the playful album closer, "Might Shine Again".Reviews
